SITE Model Initial Reactions
While I don't consider myself to be an "expert" instructional designer, I have worked in the education field for over ten years in addition to a variety of accounting and technology jobs. Upon initial review of the SITE model in Module 1 it seems that the basic premise can be summed up with two basic design concepts; WIFM (What's in it for me?) and backwards planning (Beginning with the end in mind).
For me, these two concepts are central to designing instructional materials, presentations and units of instruction.
Is this not a common sense approach to sales, instructional design and understanding students and customer motivation? Why does doing what comes natural to me seem so much more complex when formalized in a MODEL? :)
